Las Vegas, NV
(702) 385 7111 casino or (702) 386 8383 poker room; 129 East Freemont Street 89101
Date of last visit: 28 April 2007
Overall rating: You Rock!
Comps rating: You Rock!
Description of room:
Small, friendly, completely comfortable. I think they have maybe about 10 tables, all low stakes, but it's an overall great place. I highly recommend it if you are looking for low limit. "Nate from Seattle" helped me when I first got there. Management, if you are reading this, give this guy a promotion ... no, wait, don't give him a promotion because then he wouldn't be working with customers. Double his salary. That's what you should do. Nicest guy on the planet, always smiling, and so customer friendly. This guy is great!
Description of comps:
Play for a few hours and ask for a comp. That's all there is to it. The comp is $10 at the buffet or the snack shop. It won't play for a buffet dinner (and I discovered the buffet is not worth making up the difference for ... it severely lacks in the chocolate department), but they still get a superior rating for making it so easy to obtain.
Games offered:
3-6 Hold'em and 1-2 No Limit Hold'em were all they were running the afternoon I was there. One of their 3-6 games had a kill and the other didn't.
Poker Room Rate:
Haven't asked, yet. But I will.
Safety:
The garage is one of the less creepy downtown but there are two big drawbacks to using it. First, you have to cross a back street to get from the garage to the casino (which is maintained and safe looking, but not very comfortable for a girl traveling alone all the same). Second, they only give you three hours free with validation. That kinda blows. I'll probably opt for the valet next time.
Additional Information and Links:
I might someday splurge and stay at this hotel just because of the awesome pool they have. Check it out while you're there. Yes, that's a slide, a shark tank, and an outdoor blackjack table ... rock on!
